The Italian indie studio C.I.N.I.C. Games and Adventure Productions announced today the official release date for The Wardrobe, a new point and click adventure game for the PC that was approved in only six days on Steam Greenlight. The game will be available for Linux, Mac and PC on Steam and the Zodiac Store starting from January 26, with Italian and English options both available.

Currently the development team is grappling with the implementation of voiceovers, followed by extensive beta testing that will be carried out before the final build will be released. They also plan to include support for Steam Trading Cards and other extra features, which should keep them busy until January's release date.

The Wardrobe is a third person point and click game developed with the Unity engine in which the player assumes the role of Skinny, a man who dies after eating prunes offered by his friend Ronald because he is allergic to them. After his death he comes back to life as a skeleton and his new mission is now to defend his best friend, interacting with bizarre characters and solving dozens of puzzles. The game contains more than 40 environments that are all drawn, coloured and animated by hand.

Recently we had the opportunity to play The Wardrobe during Milan Games Week, so expect a preview from us in the next days. Does this concept sound bizarre to you? What games have sounded weirder in recent times?
