Shazam! will get two films

Dwayne Johnson will get his own flick starring as Black Adam.

Captain Marvel is actually a DC Comic superhero property which was finally renamed as Shazam! to avoid confusion between the two competing comic brands. And if this wasn't tricky enough for newcomers, now it seems the film adaptation will actually mean two films, as main villain character Black Adam will get his own.

According to Deadline, New Line Cinema has decided to split the project in two, with Dwayne Johnson in the role of Black Adam, and then the originally pitched film based on the main character Billy Batson, a teenager who turns into superhero Captain Marvel when he utters the word "Shazam!" after a wizard.
