PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds reaches one million sold copies

Bluehole Studio and Brendan Greene's Battlle Royale-themed shooter has enjoyed a rather successful launch, with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds proving very popular since its launch on Steam Early Access. Holding strong as Steam's number one selling game for more than two weeks and maintaining a position in the top three concurrent user count on Steam, it peaked with more than 89,000 simultaneous players.

Brendan Greene wanted to send a message to thank the players who made that success possible:

"We couldn't have reached this milestone without the dedication of our players and we are truly humbled by their passionate response," he said via a press release. "As we move to make improvements and deliver new content we will actively engage this growing fan base."
