Microsoft will be in attendance at Gamescom later this summer, and the platform holder is heading to Germany with some new announcements to share with its audiences on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

What these announcements might be is anyone's guess, although Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg did tell us that they had a lot of big unannounced games in development, even if they're not ready to talk about many of them right now.

We might, however, hear about some of them in Cologne.

"I always go to Gamescom. I care a lot about our fans and our partners in Europe so that's a big show for us. So we'll definitely be there. We are planning on making more announcements at Gamescom," Greenberg teased us, adding that he "can't share too much..."

After failing to persuade him to give us some exclusives "off the record", the man from Xbox did reiterate that another round of reveals would be coming to Cologne.

"We have more announcements. Not E3 level. [...] But we're not just going to go to Gamescom and show what we showed at E3. There will be some other news as well. I'd rather not spoil it, and let it be a delight for our fans and for the media that are there in Cologne. But yeah, we've got a lot going on right now and it's exciting.

"And the same thing is like, a lot of great partners in Europe as well, a lot of folks that don't make it out to E3 that want to be able to show that, and at the same time the balance of like what a big PC market that is - you know Germany being the largest PC market in Europe - so we always take that into consideration as well, as we think about what type of things we show.

"And you know we did, for example, unveil the new Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, so we're going back to the original Age, remastering that. We're bringing that to the PC with all the new updates, and we're even going to have like a celebration for 25 years of the Age franchise at Gamescom. So we've got some more stuff planned, and I'm excited. As soon as we've finished E3 we'll start working on finishing up all those plans too."
