It was another strong year for Ubisoft, and this year they opened and closed with surprise announcements.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker were on stage to announce the absurdly titled South Park: The Fractured But Whole, a new RPG in the style of The Stick of Truth.

The publisher later followed that up with the announcement of a new IP, For Honor, a 4v4 multiplayer action game starring vikings and samurai (we didn't see them fighting each other to be fair).

Strategy fans will be pleased to hear that the Anno series has gone futuristic, with Anno 2205 announced, along with a beta that's coming later this year.

Elsewhere, Trackmania Turbo was confirmed for consoles, and it'll have procedurally generated content for a potentially never-ending stream of tracks to race on.

A couple of dates. The Division got a release date, and we got our hands-on with the open-world shooter.

Another date came, this time for the beta for Rainbow Six: Siege, plus we've got ten minutes of Siege gameplay here.

Finally, the Wild Run expansion for The Crew is due out in November.

Finally, the show ended on a high, when Ubi announced a familiar franchise, albeit one that's headed in a new direction. Ghost Recon: Wildlands sees the shooter series taken into the open-world, and we await more on this front with interest.
