The fast, the furious and the zombies

I honestly wasn't expecting much on this newly released freemium title, and in a way that is what I am getting: Not much. But what there is, I am truly enjoying.

Fast & Furious: Legacy is out now on iOS, and it is - in lack of a better term - an auto runner. On wheels. You simply swipe left or right to race and avoid traffic. When drifting, you have a virtual steering wheel, and in drag racing you just take care of your gear shift.

My biggest problem with this title is actually that I enjoy it too much.

It has all the usual crap: Timers when you have driven too much and a simplistic gameplay. But somehow it doesn't bother me. I race a few times (admitted: Hours) then leave the game to its timers. Actually I have only experienced having to wait once, since as soon as you expand your car park it becomes less of an issue.

Anyways just a quick hi from Denmark. Now back to racing, and then right after I'll head for the streets of Harran in the excellent Dying Light.

What are you guys playing this weekend?

Go grab Beach Buggy Racing

It is no secret, that I am a big fan of mobile and handheld gaming. It is also no secret, that I wish a lot of freemium games weren't freemium. I hate timers, and when I play, I want to be in charge of where and when. That is one of the reasons I mention Beach Buggy Racing.

It is a Mario Kart clone made by the brilliant developer Vector Unit. If you are a mobile gamer you probably know them for their Rip Tide series. Anyways... Beach Buggy Racing. It is a great little racing game, but it is also a freemium game with the usual limits on your play time. But for once you have the option to unlock an unlimited version by paying. I think that is a great way to do it. If you want a free game, live with the timers. If you hate freemium vote with your wallet.

If you have an Android or iOS unit, I recommend downloading the game and taking it for a spin. Tons of options, great controls, lots to do in the game, and daily challenges. And it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Free iOS games

Free iOS games

I haven't really graced the English blog pages of Gamereactor with my writing before. But I figured since a lot of my Danish texts on iOS get translated and fill the review pages here, I might as well bump in from time to time, to recommend a few freebies on iOS, that I like.

So here we go:

Swordigo is basically a great platformer that borrows a bit from Metroid and Zelda, while delivering an enjoyable adventure.

Dark Guardians blends the runner genre with tons of atmosphere. Not an amazing game, but still a fine little runner. Download if you need something light to play on your iOS device.

Order & Chaos Online is basically World of Warcraft in your pocket (unfortunately with a bit of stinking IAP).

Joe Dever's Lone Wolf takes a bit from the book of RPGs and add some Fighting Fantasy novel style to the mix.

All of these games are normally paid games, but at the moment they are free to grab for your iPad or iPhone. So there is no harm in downloading and see if you like them. Enjoy.

Personally I really spend too much time on Supernauts, which is a freemium game, that takes bits from the city builder genre and adds a heavy dose of Minecraft to the proceedings.

I really enjoy playing this, and I have a lot of fun building stuff and watching the many creative worlds while waiting for my materials to get finished. The picture above is the winner from a weekly contest in the game. This time the theme was "Under the Sea". I think they did a steallar job on doing Nemo.

Anyways. Let me know if you want more recommendations like this from time to time.
