When Studio MDHR's Cuphead was announced it was supposed to be a kind of boss rush game, but the studio has gradually expanded its vision. At E3 they showed off new platforming mechanics, and revealed that they had bigger plans. As we all know: bigger plans usually means it'll take more time to finish. That's the case of Cuphead as well.

The studio has just announced that the anticipated game has been delayed to mid-2017. Chad Moldenhauer have this to say:

"Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact"

Obviously we're disappointed that we won't get to play in the cartoony universe this year, but we're also happy that they aren't releasing an unpolished game. At least Dóri gets some extra time to prepare himself for this challenging game.
