Late last year Dynasty Warriors 9 was announced, at which point it was confirmed as the first game in the series to go open-world. Since then all has been quiet with regards to the upcoming title, but now we've gotten a quick update ahead of more intel that should arrive via an upcoming Famitsu article.
The article promises a detailed look at the game, but in the meantime, we have to be content with a couple of mere tidbits, including the news that DW9 will include long-range sniping, players will be able to use grappling hooks to get into castles, and there's going to be a selection of new characters.
However, the most important detail is the fact that the next entry in the long-running Musou series will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. The series has increasingly had a PS-focus, but the last main/numbered game in the series also launched on Xbox 360.
Thanks, DualShockers.
