Recently, AAA titles have been introducing more and more micro-transactions, generally to the dismay of the players. The problem here is that it is becoming more frequent to have to spend real money on in-game content that facilitates your progression, creating an imbalance between the players ready to break their piggy bank and the others.
The team in charge of Assassin's Creed: Origins spared themselves any trouble by allowing loot boxes to be opened with the in-game money only. The catch is they didn't specify if the in-game currency could be acquired with real money, which was the case in the previous Assassin's Creed titles.
We'll know for sure on October 27th, when Assassin's Creed: Origins will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
What do you think about the use of micro-transactions, in AAA titles and in general?
