Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 was released back in September, but of course fans have been noticing several potential areas for improvement. The company has been gathering feedback since the game's original launch and more recently after the release of its Data Pack 1.0. With all this in mind, they're working on the so-called Gameplay Patch, which will be released before the month's end.

Among the tweaks and fixes the update will improve the behaviour of the cursor change feature to select the best-positioned player when defending. Then, in terms of AI and scripting, there'll be "increased aggression for COM defence and foul call balance", as well as a re-balance for goalkeeper behaviour, so that now they're "more likely to catch slow balls that do not necessarily have to be deflected". Also in terms of artificial intelligence, the defender final line decisions should now be better.

Konami ends its official announcement by promising new details on this patch next week, also "including information of exciting new content coming to PES 2018". This clearly points to the upcoming Data Pack 2.0, which should add player faces, boots, balls, and most likely at least a new stadium.
