Fantasy Flight Interactive and Asmodee Digital are bringing us The Lord of the Rings: Living Card Game next year, but new details have revealed that this isn't just another PvP CCG like Hearthstone or Gwent, because this a story-driven game for solo players, also featuring co-op options in the future.

In The Lord of the Rings: Living Card Game, players customise their own deck with up to three heroes and 30 cards, and they can earn these cards in-game or buy specific packs on the shop, although it won't be randomly in loot boxes. There'll be five big missions from the beginning that Fantasy Flight Interactive will expand later, and another big difference between this one and other CGG titles is that in this one levels are pre-set, not randomly generated.

The game will debut in 2018 via Steam Early Access in the form of three different Founder packs, but after that it will be free-to-play. Do you like how it's distinguishing itself from other CCGs?
