Sony invited Breakpoint Studio's Etienne Jacquemain to PSX 2017 to talk about Tennis World Tour, the tennis simulator in development that calls itself the spiritual successor to the Top Spin series, and during the event we got to see the first gameplay from the pre-alpha version of the game.
Jacquemain explained how the game came about, how it relates to Top Spin, and what kind of content will be included. The team are working hard on the animations, because he thinks this "is the key to making a great tennis game, how it looks and feels". Tennis World Tour is a simulator, with upgradable characters, but will also be open for less experienced players, and as the creative director of the game, he compares the controls with EA's FIFA.
Isner, Goffin, Federer, and Momfils are the four top players featured in the early footage you can see here, but Breakpoint Studio need to hurry because Tennis World Tour is planned for May on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
