It was at The Game Awards that we found out the the release date for the promising Sea of Thieves, a nautical adventure developed by Rare for PC and Xbox One. Expected on March 20, the game is going to launch around the same time as a new themed controller. To be precise, the newly-designed gamepad will go on sale more than a month before the game's release, this according to Microsoft's official website.

The controller comes with a skull set in the centre, and the battery cover is decorated with two unicorn's skulls. After all, nothing screams pirate more than a couple of unicorn skulls. If you like the design you're going to have to hand over plenty of treasure, though, with it costing £65/€70.

For our most recent hands-on with Sea of Thieves, aim your cannon this way ye scurvy seadogs.

Sea of Thieves

REVIEW. Written by Kieran Harris

"It may not be all smooth sailing, but Rare's Sea of Thieves manages to deliver a cooperative experience like nothing we've ever experienced before."
